CONWAY, Ark. – Back at home for the final time in non-conference play, the Central Arkansas women's basketball team gets set to host Hendrix Monday night in the Farris Center. Tip-off against the Warriors is set for 6:30 p.m.
The Sugar Bears (5-2) closed November with a Thanksgiving Tournament in Atlanta, Georgia, where the team dominated three games in three days. Central Arkansas was clearly the best team on both sides of the ball, winning the three games by an average of 23 points per game.
Shae Littleford led a very balanced offense, averaging 13.0 points per game last week.
Bree Stephens averaged a gaudy 12.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.3 blocks per game, posting her second double-double of the season against Georgia State.
Central Arkansas continues to be one of the most balanced teams in the ASUN early in the year, with nine players making ten or more field goals this season, five reaching ten-plus three-pointers, and six players with double-digit assists already. The Sugar Bears have been putting together team effort after team effort, and are holding opponents to 58 points per game.
The Sugar Bears and Warriors met on opening night last year in the Farris Center, where the home team cruised to a 104-30 win.
Cheyanne Kemp had 17 points, including five three-pointers, while
Jenna Cook added 14 points with a pair of triples of her own in the win.
Hendrix crosses town with a 1-2 record this season, splitting two games with Lyon College and a loss to Southwestern University. Last time out, the Warriors narrowly dropped a six-point final score against Lyon, falling 80-74. Brooklyn Rowe led the team with 18 points, and Brailey Forst had 11 points and 13 rebounds, notching her second double-double of the season.
Rowe and Forst have been leading the charge for the Warriors through three games this year. Rowe has increased her scoring in each game, and now leads the team with 12.3 points per contest, adding 6.7 rebounds a night. Forst has been a force inside, averaging 11.7 points and a team-high 13.0 rebounds per game. She has double-digit rebounds in all three games, including a season-high 14 in the season-opener against Lyon.
