Conway, Ark.- The Central Arkansas Bears (3-4, 0-0) are traveling to East Tennessee State University (5-1, 0-0) to take on the Bucs in Freedom Hall on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. (CT). This is the second of the two games the Bears are playing this season as part of the Challenge between the ASUN and SoCon Conferences. Two weeks ago the Bears played Samford at home in the first game of the Challenge. This will be the first ever meeting between the Bears and the Bucs.
The Bears are coming off two big home wins in a row, winning both games by an average of 24 points. First the Bears beat Eastern Washington 92-65, then beat Eastern Illinois 81-60. Cam Hunter had 19 points in both games and Ty Robinson had 18 points in both games. As a team, after two really good shooting games, the Bears are now shooting 43% from the field and 31% from 3PT (making 9.9 a game) for the season.
ETSU is scoring 82 points per game, shooting 50% from the field, 31% from 3 point range and 72% from the free throw line so far this season. The Bucs have three players scoring in double digits. Brian Taylor II is averaging 14.7, Cam Morris III with 14.5 and Jordan McCullum with 10.7. Last time out, the Bucs played ULM at home, jumped out to a big lead in the first half and cruised to an easy 97-55 win.
