CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas women's soccer team hits the road for its final nonconference matchup, heading to Monroe, Louisiana to take on the ULM Warhawks. Kickoff in Monroe is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday.
The Bears are looking for answers offensively, having struggled on that side of the field so far this season. The last couple of matches have seen some promising looks, with the Bears taking 17 shots over their last two outings, but after starting the season putting shots on goal at a terrific rate, only three of those 17 shots from the last two games have been on target.
But outside of the raw scoring numbers, the Bears are playing competitive soccer. Shot numbers are almost even over the last two matches, corner kicks are almost even, there's a lot of good soccer happening on the Central Arkansas side, but the goals just aren't falling through quite yet.
ULM's record is 6-2 entering Sunday's match, with three wins coming against SWAC and SOCON teams. Last week, the Warhawks played Oklahoma State and Oklahoma, getting outscored 9-1 over those two matches. Ally Richardson scored the lone goal against the Sooners.
Kai Douglas leads the team with four scores, scoring two of them via PKs. Thirteen Warhawks have scored this season, many of whom scored in a 9-0 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff. ULM has used three keepers this season, combining for five shutouts. Jennifer Handy leads the trio with six starts and 441 minutes between the posts, making nine saves while allowing just three goals.
Kickoff on Sunday is set for 1 p.m. in Monroe. The match will be streamed on ESPN+, with live stats available online.
