CONWAY, Ark. _ A mid-game flurry of runs carried the Eastern Kentucky Colonels to a 10-3 victory over the University of Central Arkansas Bears in ASUN action Saturday at Bear Stadium.
The Colonels (3-15, 1-1) evened the series at 1-1, with the rubber game at 1 p.m. Sunday.
EKU out-hit UCA 15-7 and put up a combined nine runs in the third through fifth innings. UCA managed a single run in the third and two more in the fifth but that was all. Senior first baseman
A.J. Mendolia hit his second home run of the season in the third. In the fifth, Mendolia had an RBI single to score

Bryce Cermenelli doubled in
Kade Seldomridge.
EKU used just two pitchers, with starter Ryker Walton (2-1) getting the win and reliever Isaac Milburn getting the team's first save of the season. UCA starter
Coleman MacRae took the loss, going 3.1 innings and allowing five runs.
Allen, a freshman fro Fort Smith, Ark., finished 3 for 4, while Mendolia was 2 for 5 with 2 runs batted in, and Cermenelli was 2 for 4.
Ehlinger Adrianza had three hits for the Colonels and six other players had two each.Â
