Women's Basketball to Play at No. 9 Kansas State

CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas women's basketball team gets set for its second Power 4 matchup of the season, taking on No. 9 Kansas State on the road on Sunday. Tip-off against the Wildcats is set for 3:30 p.m.

Central Arkansas (4-1) added another win and another record last time out, defeating CBC 120-47 on Monday. The Sugar Bears hit a program-record 19 three-pointers, with seven players connecting from deep. Leah Mafua canned five shots from distance, adding nine assists and six steals. Six Sugar Bears scored in double-figures, led by Jade Upshaw's 18.

The 120 points were the second-most points scored by the Sugar Bears in their Division I history, and marked the second time breaking the 100-point mark this season. It's the first time scoring 100-plus in multiple games since 2010-11, and extends a run of home wins to 17-1 for head coach Tony Kemper.

Kansas State has started its season 6-1, most recently defeating DePaul 92-66. Fifth-year Ayoka Lee posted 23 points and 10 rebounds, adding four blocks and a steal on the defensive end. The redshirt senior leads the Wildcats with 19.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

The Wildcats are one of the county's most efficient offense, shooting 50 percent from the field as a team, and make a ton of trips to the free throw line, averaging more than 14 free throw attempts per game. Lee is a big part of that, shooting 66 percent from the field and shooting 21 free throws this season.

Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m. in Manhattan, Kansas. The game will be streamed on ESPN+, with live stats available online. Fans can also keep up with all the action at 91.3 The Bear, with Steve Owens on the call.
