Men's Soccer Closes Regular Season at UNF

CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas men's soccer team wraps up the regular season at North Florida on Saturday. Hoping to clinch a spot in the ASUN Championship, the Bears and Ospreys kick off at 6 p.m. CT in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Bears (5-7-2, 2-3-1 ASUN) control their own destiny as the regular season wraps up, needing just a point in the ASUN table to clinch a berth to the conference tournament. And the Bears, who might need just a single goal on Saturday, have been consistently getting on the board, surrendering only two shutouts in ASUN play.

Last time out, Central Arkansas dropped a match to FGCU, falling 2-1 to the Eagles. Despite a PK from Pietro Fontana, the Bears gave up a goal in the second half to break the tie, running out of time even with a furious attempt to tie it late in the match. Fontana now leads the team with four goals this season, one of five Bears with multiple goals.

North Florida (6-6-3, 4-1-1 ASUN) currently occupies the No. 1 seed in the ASUN, after defeating Queens last time out. The 2-0 shutout over the Royals marked the second-straight shutout for the Ospreys, and extended the team's ASUN unbeaten streak to five games.

The Ospreys have been led this season by Joaquin Acuna and David Perez, who each have five goals and an assist this season. All of their point contributions have come in ASUN play, meaning the duo has combined for ten goals and two assists in just six matches.

Kickoff against North Florida is set for 6 p.m. CT on Saturday. The match will be streamed on ESPN+, with live stats available online.
