Bears Hit Road for ASUN Match at Stetson

CONWAY, Ark. – With home games in the past, the Central Arkansas women's soccer team is on the road for their final three games of the regular season, starting with Stetson on Thursday. Kickoff against the Hatters is set for 6 p.m. CT.

The Bears (7-5-2, 6-0-2 ASUN) took a weight off of their shoulders on Sunday, defeating Jacksonville 3-2 to clinch a spot in the ASUN Championship later this month. But as the current No. 1 seed and the last remaining unbeaten team in the league, the Bears are still very aware that they're getting everyone's best shot every match.

Last time out, Kelly Van Gundy scored a brace, followed by Kayla Hurley's game-winner in the closing minutes to defeat the Dolphins. Van Gundy's two scores put her in a tie for first place among ASUN scorers, with six conference goals.

Stetson enters the weekend 7-9 overall, but just 2-6 in ASUN matches, with wins over West Georgia and Queens. The Hatters most recently lost matches to Austin Peay and Lipscomb, falling by a combined score of 5-1.

In league games, the Hatters have been outscored 7-13, making them one of five teams to have scored fewer goals than there have been matches. Stetson only has one multi-goal scorer in ASUN games, with Stella Comana logging two goals in the eight matches. Overall, she ranks second on the team with four goals, just behind Lea Alexander's five.

Kickoff against the Hatters is set for 6 p.m. CT on Thursday. The match will have live stats available online.
