TOPEKA, Kan. – The University of Central Arkansas Men's and Women's Track & Field teams traveled to Washburn University for the Washburn Rust Buster this weekend.
 
The Bears broke two UCA records, earned 39 top-10 finishes, and set 41 personal records.
 
Breaking the UCA record in the women's Weight Throw, Joia Perry placed sixth with a throw of 16.62m (54-6.5).
 
Breaking the UCA record in the men's Weight Throw, Aidan Patton placed third with a throw of 19.21m (63-0.25).
 
Emily Morrison placed first in the women's High Jump with a jump of 1.55m (5-1.0).
 
Wesley Suen placed first in the men's 60m dash finals with a time of 6.78.

In the women's Weight Throw, Joia Perry placed sixth with a throw of 16.62m (54-6.5). Kiara Williams placed ninth with a throw of 15.51m (50-10.75) and Serena Degollado finished 13^th with a throw of 14.97m (49-1.5). Savannah Carrigan finished 19^th with a jump of 5.00m (16-5.0) and Kylie Wright finished 20^th with a jump of 4.98m (16-4.25).
Sophia Schrader placed seventh in the women's Pole Vault with a jump of 3.60m (11-9.75). Kylie Coleman placed ninth with a jump of 3.50m (11-5.75) and Anne Baliel finished 13^th with a jump of 3.30m (10-10.0). Maygan Jarvis finished 26^th with a jump of 2.90m (9-6.25).
Davin James tied for seventh in the women's High Jump with a jump of 1.60m (5-3.0).

In the men's 60m dash prelims, Wesley Suen placed third with a time of 6.88 and Kobe Gill placed fourth with a time of 6.88. Jake Green placed seventh with a time of 6.92, Aaron Webb placed eighth with a time of 6.94, and TyJuan Huffman finished 18^th with a time of 7.04.
Troynelle Miller placed first in the women's 60m dash prelims with a time of 7.68. Raghan Allen placed sixth with a time of 7.75, Kendelle McCoy finished ninth with a time of 7.80, and Ciara Tucker finished 14^th with a time of 7.86.
Jewel Baer tied for seventh in the women's Mile with a time of 5:10.88. Anna Bommes finished 22^nd with a time of 5:19.50, Emma Selph finished 30^th with a time of 5:24.28, and Alexis Frick finished 36^th with a time of 5:27.42.
In the men's 60m hurdles finals, Byron Holt placed seventh with a time of 8.43.

In the women's 400m, Grace Deshotels placed seventh with a time of 58.79. Symone Quiles finished 14^th with a time of 1:00.21 and Brenae Allen finished 22^nd with a time of 1:03.58.
Anna Bommes placed fifth in the women's 800m with a time of 2:17.81. Jewel Baer finished 15^th with a time of 2:23.48, Ashlyn Floyd finished 28^th with a time of 2:29.16, Alexis Frick finished 30^th with a time of 2:30.30, and Emma Selph finished 34^th with a time of 2:31.77.
In the men's 200m, TyJuan Huffman placed fifth with a time of 21.94. Xavier Simpkins placed eighth with a time of 22.06, Bruce White finished 17^th with a time of 22.48, and Byron Holt finished 32^nd with a time of 22.90.
Raghan Allen placed third in the women's 200m with a time of 24.97. Kendelle McCoy placed eighth with a time of 25.62, Troynelle Miller finished 13^th with a time of 25.79, Brenae Allen finished 21^st with a time of 26.13, and Grace Deshotels finished 21^st with a time of 26.13. "We gained a lot of valuable experience this weekend. We had a lot of solid performances across the board in all event areas for our men and women. Aidan Patton and Joia Perry both broke the school record for the Weight Throw. Now we will go back to work and get two weeks of training in before we compete again. I'm pleased with our progression thus far and excited for what's to come."
