Sugar Bears Host North Alabama on Tuesday

CONWAY, Ark. – Back at home for the first of three scheduled home games this week, the Sugar Bears look to get back in the win column against North Alabama on Tuesday. Playing the Lions for the second time this season, Central Arkansas and North Alabama tip off at 3 p.m. at the Farris Center.

The Sugar Bears (8-17, 3-11 ASUN) return home after three games on the road last week, the last of which came against Eastern Kentucky on Saturday. Despite the final score, Central Arkansas continued to fight all game, outrebounding the Colonels 37-26 and continuing to stay aggressive on both ends of the court.

Siera Carter scored 15 in the loss, leading the team for the second time over the road trip. Kierra Prim added 12 points, while Kinley Fisher reached ten with a three-pointer in the third quarter. The trio has been a large part of the offense as the season has neared completion, each averaging double-digits over the last five games. The trio has logged heavy minutes, each averaging more than 32 minutes apiece over the last stretch of games.

Central Arkansas looks to bounce back from last Monday's loss to the Lions. After trailing for most of the game, the Sugar Bears held a three-point lead with five minutes left in the game, before the offense sputtered out and allowed the Lions to reclaim the lead. Carter had a season-high 23 points in that one, with Prim adding 19 of her own in the loss. The duo used their athleticism and dribble-drive ability to blow by defenders for easy baskets until the defense adjusted in the fourth.

North Alabama (11-14, 6-8 ASUN) comes to Conway after defeating Bellarmine on Saturday, logging a 66-49 win at Freedom Hall. Three Lions scored in double-digits, led by Jade Moore's 16 points. North Alabama was able to force 22 turnovers from the Knights, turning it into 14 points and claiming the season sweep over Bellarmine.

Moore now leads the team in scoring, averaging 11 points per game, and added to her lead in three-pointers on the team, hitting four more to bring her season total to 72. She is one of three Lions averaging double-digits this season, along with Hina Suzuki's 10.8 and Skylar Gill's 10.6. Suzuki also leads the team with 134 assists, while Gill leads the team in rebounds (8.0 per game), steals (44) and blocks (68).

Tuesday's game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. tip, and is available to watch via ESPN+, with live stats available here. Fans can also listen to Steve Owens on the radio call, playing on 91.3 The Bear.
