ATLANTA, Ga. – Madison Holmes played an excellent 54 holes of golf at the Lady Red Wolves Classic, earning herself the ASUN's Golfer of the Week award. It marks the first of the season for the junior, who placed sixth this week in Jonesboro.
 
Holmes stayed calm and collected in all three rounds, finishing third out of 95 golfers with 39 pars while adding seven birdies. Her play also improved as the Classic went on, lowering her score each and every round, from 74 in round one, 73 in round two and finally a 2-under 70 in round three that lifted her from ninth to sixth. In fact, her play was so consistent, she was the only golfer to record zero double-bogeys or worse while also having no more than three bogeys in any round.
 
The junior's final placing after Tuesday's third round marked the second time this season that Holmes has finished in the top-10. Last time out, she finished second at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic, showing the improvements she has made since even just last year. Holmes' award is the first of her career, and the first for the Bears as members of the ASUN.
