Sugar Bear Lucy Ibeh Named to the ASUN All-Academic Team

ATLANTA, Ga. – Showing remarkable dedication in the classroom and on the court, Sugar Bear Lucy Ibeh has been named to the ASUN Conference All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference Wednesday morning.

Ibeh was selected based on a combination of athletic accomplishments this season paired with a consistent and enduring commitment to academic success. One of eight selected to this team, Ibeh has proven to be one of the best at living up to both parts of the phrase "student-athlete".

On the court, Ibeh has shown to be one of the premier forwards in the ASUN. She leads the Sugar Bears in points (12.8 ppg), rebounds (10.5 rpg) and steals (52 stl). At the conference level, she ranks sixth in scoring, first in rebounding and second in steals. A beast on the boards, Ibeh has 60 more rebounds than anybody else in the conference, helping her lead the conference in double-doubles, securing 12 statlines of 10-plus points and 10-olus rebounds.

Yet Ibeh's prowess extends beyond the court, as the forward has proven to excel at the academic level. A dietetics major, Ibeh has maintained a 3.93 cumulative GPA during her college career, including a 4.0 in the fall.

Ibeh and the Sugar Bears open postseason play this evening against Jacksonville, facing the Dolphins for the second time this season.
