LOUISVILLE, Ky. _ The University of Central Arkansas Bears rallied with 10 runs in the final two innings Saturday to beat the Bellarmine Knights 15-9 in ASUN action at Knights Field.
The Bears (6-11) evened the series at 1-1, with the rubber game set for noon (CT) Sunday.
UCA did not have a hit until the fourth inning, but then exploded for five runs in the top of the eighth to go from trailing 6-5 to leading 10-6. The Bears used three hits, four walks, a hit batter and a sacrifice bunt against three different Bellarmine pitchers in the inning.Â
UCA put up another five runs in the ninth, sparked by a three-run double by sophomore center fielder
Drew Sturgeon. Junior right hander
Andrew Shoultz allowed a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth but then struck out BU second baseman Brett Pfaadt to end it. Shoultz, who entered in the seventh, struck out six and allowed three hits to earn his first victory of the season.Â

Jesse Barker also struck out six, while
Tyler Navarro added two more strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings of scoreless middle relief. UCA finished with a season-high 16 hits against six different Knights' pitchers. Sturgeon,

Reid Bowman had three hits each, with Sturgeon picking up a career-high five RBI.
UCA has totaled 27 hits in the first two games of the series, with five having multiple hits in Game 2. Seven difefrent Bears knocked in runs on Saturday, including three by first baseman
Hunter Hicks and two by second baseman Bowman.
