KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After successful 2022 campaigns that saw Central Arkansas make another ASUN Championship final,
Sebastian Andreassen and
Richy Lapointe-Guevara were named to United Soccer Coaches All-Region teams, with Andreassen earning second team honors and Guevara locking in a third team spot.
Andreassen finished the year second in the ASUN with 22 points, scoring eight goals with six assists, both team-highs. He was the first Bear since 2019 to hit the 20-point mark, and scored a goal in five straight games, spanning from October 15-November 7. The senior was also named All-ASUN First Team following the regular season after compiling one of the best offensive seasons in recent memory for the Bears.
Guevara earned his place on the all-region team after a sensational season on the backline, capping 2022 as the second-highest scorer on the Bears with five goals, earning an All-ASUN Second Team nod for his efforts. The Canadian was instrumental on set pieces, using his athleticism and positioning to get to crosses and corners to produce the ASUN's second-best offense. Of the 16 matches that he played, Guevara played less than 90 minutes just once, proving himself to be invaluable on the pitch.
The duo marks a second-straight year that the Bears have earned multiple all-region honorees, and the fourth in a row with at least one player on a United Soccer Coaches all-region team.
