CONWAY, Ark. – COVID protocols involving the Lipscomb women's basketball team has resulted in the Sugar Bears' Jan. 8 ASUN home opener being postponed indefinitely. Additionally, due to inclement weather along I-40, the Central Arkansas men's basketball team will face Lipscomb on Sunday, Jan. 9, to ensure safe travel for the Bisons, with a new game time at 2 p.m. CT.
The postponement of the Sugar Bears' game resulted from the Bison's Wednesday night game against North Alabama suffering the same outcome, with Saturday too close to get Lipscomb's program eligible given COVID guidelines.
With the postponement, the men's team will now open its ASUN home schedule on Sunday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m. in the Farris Center. The Sugar Bears will have to wait for their home-opener in the new league and will travel to Bellarmine next week for their next outing.
