CONWAY, Ark. – The University of Central Arkansas beach volleyball team travels to New Orleans for the NOLA Classic on Friday. UCA posted a 4-1 record at the ULM Beach Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Beach Bears improved to 9-5 on the season after a strong showing.
The dynamic duo of
Aly Brinkley and
Colene Hamilton were a force to be reckoned with over the weekend as they posted a 4-1 record at the No. 1 position. Over the weekend, the UCA pair defeated the No.1's from HBU, ULM, and Southeastern, twice. The twosome helped the Beach Bears post a 4-1 record. The two earned the Southland Conference Pair of the Week.
Brinkley and Hamilton pace the Beach Bears at the No. 1 position with an 8-6 record.
Evelyn Griffith and
Faith Hasness have posted an 8-6 mark in the No. 2 spot.
Makenna Schmitt and
Shannon Stone have held down the No. 3 pair and have collected an 8-6 record.
Julia Oravec and
Kelsie Sager have bolstered a 3-3 mark at the No. 4 position. In the No. 5 duo,
Payton Sproule and
Kayla Cook have posted an 0-1 record.
This is the third meeting between Tulane and UCA. The No. 20 Green Wave holds a 2-0 series lead against the Bears. Eva Torruella and Kendall Peters held down the No. 1 position for the last four matches.
This will be the first meeting between Spring Hill College and UCA. The Sandy Badgers are led by Kassandra Fairly and Payton Gidney in the No. 1 spot.
This will also be the first meeting between UCA and No. 17 Georgia State. The Panthers are led by Eden Hawes and Maddy Delmonte in the No. 1 position.
