CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas women's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of Farris Center for a game against McNeese on Monday. The Sugar Bears look to redeem themselves after an earlier loss to McNeese this season, 59-45, in Lake Charles.
The Sugar Bears are coming off of a tightly contested victory over Abilene Christian. The UCA defense was key in holding off the Wildcats in the 55-53 win.
Lucy Ibeh led UCA with a game-high 20 points and added three rebounds and a game-high three steals.
Savanna Walker added a double-digit performance with 11 points and collected a game-high four assists.
Ayanna Trigg posted a game-high nine rebounds and contributed nine points to the tally. Brianna Trigg finished second on the team in rebounds with six and produced six points.
Ibeh leads the Sugar Bears with 13.6 points per game, leads the squad with 7.0 rebounds per game, and leads the team in steals with 46. Walker is second on the team with 7.0 points per game, second on the team with 19 steals, and leads the team with 41 assists.
Briana Trigg is second on the team with 5.5 rebounds per game and is averaging 5.1 points per game.
Tori Lasker is second on the team with 36 assists and has added 15 steals.
Jayla Cody has a team-high 14 blocks.
This will be the 30th meeting between the Sugar Bears and Cowgirls. UCA leads the series 20-9. McNeese has lost three of its last four games and is coming off of a 61-45 loss at Houston Baptist Saturday.
Divine Tanks leads the Wildcats with 11.1 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game. Callie Maddox is second on the team averaging 10.3 points per game. Kyla Hamilton paces the team in assists with 52 and in steals with 34. Claralee Richard has a team-high 15 blocks.
