CONWAY, Ark. – The University of Central Arkansas beach volleyball team opens its 2021 season in Florence, Alabama, for the Shoals Beach Bash. The Beach Bears look to continue where they left off when the 2020 season was cut short due to COVID-19. UCA finished last season 7-1.
 
At last year's Shoals Beach Bash, the Beach Bears went 5-0. UCA returns a plethora of experience and depth as well as four talented newcomers. UCA is led by Aly Brinkley and Colene Hamilton in the No. 1 position. Central Arkansas is set to face Huntingdon twice, North Alabama twice, and Hendrix once.
 
UCA and Huntingdon have only met once in program history and UCA defeated Huntingdon, 5-0, in the Shoals Beach Bash last season. The Hawks are 1-5 on the season. Huntingdon is led by Amy Tyma and Audrey Horsley in the No. 1 position.
 
Central Arkansas holds a 2-0 record against North Alabama, with the last meeting taking place at the UCA Beach Bear Classic in March 2020. The Lions have not yet played a match this season. UNA is led by sophomores Maya Dickinson and Paula Kiemperer.
 
The Beach Bears also hold a 2-0 lead in program history against Hendrix. The last matchup against the Warriors was in Conway for the UCA Beach Bear Classic last season. The Warriors are coming off of a weekend tournament that featured the first win in program history. Hendrix is led by MaKenzie Presley and Charlotte Alexander in the No. 1 spot.
