CONWAY, Ark. —The University of Central Arkansas women's basketball team takes to the road for its next contest against Sam Houston on Saturday. The Sugar Bears are currently on a four-game winning streak and look to avenge an earlier loss to the Bearkats in Huntsville, Texas.
Lucy Ibeh continues to reap havoc on opposing defenses. She has produced at least 14 points in the last six games, including two games with 31 points. She dropped 31 points in UCA's last game against New Orleans and added a game-high seven rebounds, along with a team-high two steals. Ibeh is leading the team with 13.2 points per game and has a team-best 7.1 rebounds per game. She leads the Sugar Bears with 37 steals.
Terri Crawford is second on the team with 5.8 points per game and has added 3.5 rebounds per game.
Briana Trigg is second on the team with 5.2 rebounds per game and is averaging 4.7 points per game.
Savanna Walker has 16 steals, which is second on the team, and is second on the team with 28 assists.
Jayla Cody leads the team with 13 blocks and is the only Sugar Bear with double-digit blocks.
Tori Lasker has been the key facilitator for UCA and has a team-high 36 assists and is averaging 5.1 points per game.
The Sugar Bears hold a 15-9 series lead over the Bearkats, but the Bearkats have won the last three meetings. Earlier this season, Sam Houston defeated Central Arkansas 67-60 in Conway. The Kats hold a slight 5-4 advantage over UCA in Huntsville.
The Bearkats are led by Amber Leggett who is No. 29 in the NCAA and leads the Southland with 20.6 points per game. Leggett also leads the team with 6.9 rebounds per game, leads the team with 35 steals, and has a team-high 14 blocks. Faith Cook is averaging 13.2 points per game, while Courtney Cleveland is averaging 12.7 points per game. Cook leads the team with 57 assists.
