Women's Soccer Plays Regular Season Finale at Lipscomb

CONWAY, Ark. – One last regular season matchup for the Central Arkansas women's soccer team, one last outing to decide seeding for the ASUN Championship. The Bears will play Lipscomb with a chance to clinch the Number 1 seed in the conference tournament. Kickoff on Saturday is set for 6 p.m.

The last match for the Bears was a drama-filled road match against Bellarmine. Despite getting outshot 15-5, UCA held on to clinch the match in the 98th minute in overtime thanks to a great pass from Gracie Hair to a cutting Emma Hawkins, who finished her league-leading 13th goal of the season.

UCA put itself in the driver's seat by staying undefeated in the ASUN West, the last remaining unbeaten team in the division. With a win or a draw on Saturday, the Bears would be locked into the Number 1 seed in the West, and would host the first two rounds of the ASUN Championship for their side of the bracket.

After adding a goal to her tally on Sunday, Hawkins continues to climb the record lists of UCA women's soccer history. In terms of single-season records at UCA, she is top-10 in goals (13, T-fourth), assists (7, T-sixth), total points (33, T-first) and game winners (4, T-fifth). On the career lists, Hawkins finds herself in similar places, sitting in third place in career goals (32), tied for seventh in assists (14), third in points (78) and second in game-winning goals (11).

The Bears will face Lipscomb, winners of two straight and six of its last seven matches. Most recently, the Bison pulled off an overtime win over two-win North Alabama. Outshooting the Lions 31-6, it only seemed like a matter of when, not if, the Lipscomb offense would eventually break through.

Lipscomb's one loss in division-play came at the hands of Eastern Kentucky. After scoring the opening goal in the 12th minute, Lipscomb would surrender two goals in the 34th and the 67th minutes to culminate in the 2-1 final in favor of EKU.

Offensively, the Bison spread the scoring around, having 12 goal scorers, led by Cami Rogers' and Molly Grant's five apiece. The strength of this team, however, is in its defense. Allowing only ten goals through 16 games, Lipscomb does a great job not allowing teams to attack goalkeeper CJ Graham, resulting in a 0.60 goals against average and nine shutouts.

Match time against the Bison is slated for 6 p.m. at Lipscomb Soccer Complex. The match will air on YouTube, and live stats can be found here.
