Conway, Ark. - The Central Arkansas Men's Soccer Team looks to secure a place in the ASUN Championships on Saturday against the Flames of Liberty. This night is more than just a chance to clinch a berth in the conference tournament, but a chance to honor multiple seniors for the Bears.
TEAM NEWS
The Bears have consistently been getting healthier as the season goes on with senior's
Katsuyoshi Kimishima and
Alberto Suarez finally back to 100% health. Striker duo
Karim Diao and
Vicent Abaso find themselves back fit after a congested schedule the last few weeks.
Bradyn Knutson remains out with a leg injury, while goalkeeper
Zach Schawl is back in training.
FORM GUIDE
Central Arkansas is coming off an away win over Jacksonville 2-0 last Saturday. With goals coming from
Pablo Azcona and
Daniel Shabani, who both scored their first for the Bears. A win for the Bears secures their spot in the ASUN Championships.
Liberty comes into Conway with two straight losses having lost to Bellarmine on the road in ASUN play before falling 1-0 to Longwood on Tuesday at home. The Flames have found good form after losing a home match after falling earlier this year to Jacksonville before bouncing back and getting a 9-1 victory over VMI. Liberty needs a win against Central Arkansas to have a chance at getting into the ASUN Championships, should other results not fall their way.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Alberto Suarez sits tied for first place in the ASUN with six goals, while
Zach Schawl ranks second in goals-against average with 1.13.
Jonathan Randall and
Edoardo Merci both sit tied for second in the conference with four assists. But the players to watch for the Bears will be
Vicent Abaso and
Daniel Shabani, both coming into the match are in good form and looking to continue it.

This will be the first ever matchup between Central Arkansas and Liberty.
