Sugar Bears Back in Farris Center for First Time in 2021

CONWAY, Ark. — After having Wednesday's conference matchup postponed, the University of Central Arkansas women's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of the Farris Center for the first time in 2021. UCA is scheduled to battle Sam Houston on Saturday. Over the last five seasons, the Sugar Bears are 16-15 after losing a conference game.
 
Jalisa Outlaw leads the Sugar Bears with 119 points. Outlaw leads the team with 13.2 points per game and has a team-high 38 made free throws. Outlaw's free throws made is tied for 44th in the country and third in the SLC. Her free-throw percentage of 86.4 percent is tied for 82nd in the nation and second in the Southland. Lucy Ibeh is averaging 9.3 points per game and leads UCA with 6.6 rebounds per game. Ibeh is currently tied for 83rd in the NCAA with 18 steals and is tied for ninth in the Southland. Ibeh is currently tied for 110th in the nation with 2.25 steals per game, which is tied for third in the conference. Ibeh leads the team with 52 rebounds. Tori Lasker is averaging 2.6 assists per game and leads the team with 18 assists. Savanna Walker is second on the team with 17 assists. Briana Trigg is second on the team with 51 rebounds. As a team UCA is tied for 55th in the NCAA with 126 made free throws, which is sixth in the conference.
 
This will be the 24th meeting between the two programs. The Sugar Bears hold the series lead, 15-8. The Bearkats have won the last two contests, including a 73-58 victory in the last game in Huntsville, Texas.
 
The Bearkats have four players averaging double-digit points. Amber Leggett leads the team with 17.4 points per game, which is tied for 108th in the NCAA and leads the Southland. Jolicia Williams is second on the team with 13.0 points per game. Courtney Cleveland and Faith Cook round out the double-digit scorers with 12.9 and 12.1 points per game, respectively. Cook is tied for first in the NCAA and leads the Southland with a perfect 100 percent from the free-throw line. Cook also leads the team with 36 assists and is averaging 4.5 assists per game. Madelyn Batista has a team-high 58 rebounds and is averaging 7.3 rebounds per game. Leggett and Kaylee Jefferson have each tallied 17 steals on the year.
