CONWAY — The Sugar Bears return to the Farris Center for four of their final five regular-season games – beginning with Southland Conference leader Stephen F. Austin at 7:00pm on Wednesday.

With five games remaining, the Sugar Bears (11-13, 7-8 Southland) sit in 8th place in the league standings, in position to claim their 10th consecutive berth in the 8-team Southland Conference tournament. They sit a half game back of both Southeastern Louisiana and UIW (7-7) for 6th place, and hold a two-game lead over Lamar and Nicholls (5-10) – with the Colonels visiting the Farris Center on Saturday.

The Sugar Bears welcome a Ladyjack team that is 19-4 overall and 12-2 in league play with its two losses coming by a combined 11 points – 53-50 loss at New Orleans and a 63-55 loss at Sam Houston State. The 'Jacks have won their last three, most recently defeating Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 72-49 in Nacogdoches after a 59-47 win at home against New Orleans.

SFA dominated the Sugar Bears in the season's first meeting, a 102-41 rout on Jan. 15 in Nacogdoches – a game in which SFA got out to a 17-0 lead en route to a 52-20 halftime lead before outscoring the Sugar Bears 50-21 in the second half to deal Central Arkansas its worst Southland Conference loss to date. The 'Jacks hit a program-record 15 3-pointers in that game to go with 18-for-31 at the free throw line; while the Sugar Bears were 0-for-8 from beyond the arc and just 5-for-8 at the free throw line.

After an 0-2 road trip last week with losses at New Orleans (85-73) and Sam Houston State (73-58), the Sugar Bears return home looking to recapture the momentum from their last homestand when they defeated Lamar 53-29 and McNeese 70-49.

The Sugar Bears got 17 points and 11 rebounds from freshman Terri Crawford in Saturday's loss at Sam Houston State, giving her an average of 11.3 points and 7 rebounds over her last three games. Briana Trigg has scored 16.3 points per game over the last three games, while Ayanna Trigg has averaged 8.2 rebounds over the last 5. Hannah Langhi, who leads the team with 25 blocks and is 2nd on the team with 24 steals behind Taylor Sells' 25, has scored in double figures in three of the last four games and has averaged 11.3 points and 7.8 rebounds during that stretch – including shooting 50 percent from the field and 75 percent from 3-point range last week's games.

They will meet up with a Ladyjack team that ranks 8th nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 53.7 points per game. The Sugar Bears are 2nd in the Southland and 35th nationally, giving up 57.3 per game. The 'Jacks are also among the national leaders in scoring margin (11th - 17.8); steals per game (14th - 11.0); assists per game (18th - 17.0); turnovers forced (30th - 19.83); and field goal percentage (31st - 44.6). The game will also pit two of the Southland's top rebounding teams against one another, as the Sugar Bears rank 35th nationally in rebound margin (+7.1 per game) while the 'Jacks are 42nd (+6.5).

Following this week's home games, the Sugar Bears make their final regular-season road trip to Abilene Christian on the 29th before concluding the regular season at home on March 4 and 7 against Southeastern Louisiana and Northwestern State.
