SUGAR BEARS SEEK SEASON SPLIT WITH LADY LIONS ON SATURDAY

After a 74-52 rout of Northwestern State last Saturday and an open date on Wednesday, the Sugar Bears return for the last of a three-game homestand on Saturday when Southeastern Louisiana visits the Farris Center. The Sugar Bears will be looking to salvage a season split with the Lady Lions, who won the season's first meeting 62-53 in Hammond, La. on Jan. 5. In that meeting, the Sugar Bears struggled offensively in the first half – shooting just 19.2 percent from the field as they fell behind 28-20 at the break. They picked it up in the second half, including a 20-point fourth quarter in which they trailed by just two with under 2:00 to play, but the Lady Lions went on an 11-2 run to close it out.

The Lady Lions come to Conway having scored a 56-45 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Wednesday to snap a three-game skid. Southeastern has won the last two games in the series with the Sugar Bears, both in Hammond. Saturday's game will feature two of the Southland's defensive units, with the Sugar Bears ranking 29th nationally with a Southland-best 57.2 points per game allowed; and Southeastern 4th and the Sugar Bears 5th in the league in field goal percentage defense.

It will be Pink Out Day in the Farris Center as part of breast cancer awareness in conjunction with Baptist Health and the American Cancer Society. Fans wearing pink will receive a $5 general admission ticket for the doubleheader, with the Bears and Lions to follow at 4:00pm.
