COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS — The Sugar Bears meet up with one of the country's top programs for the fourth consecutive season on Wednesday, taking on 12th-ranked Texas A&M at 11:00am on Elementary School Day at Reed Arena.

The Sugar Bears (2-4) have visited College Station each year since 2016 – coming closest to an upset in 2017 when they fell by just 11 in a 72-61 defeat. Last season's meeting was more favorable to the Aggies, as they cruised to an 84-27 win.

This season, the Sugar Bears will be facing an A&M squad that sits at 5-1 and was ranked 6th last week before dropping their first game of the season to Florida State 80-58 on Sunday. The Aggies are led by two-time All-American guard Chennedy Carter, this year's SEC Preseason Player of the Year. Carter comes into Wednesday's game averaging 22.7 points per game, which ranks 7th nationally. Ciera Johnson, a 6-foot-4 center, averages 12.5 points and 8.2 rebounds, while 6-2 forward N'dea Jones averages just shy of a double-double with 8.3 points and a team-high 9.0 rebounds per game.

The Sugar Bears – coming off a 57-54 win over Jackson State on Saturday – are getting a team-high 9.0 points per game from senior guard Taylor Sells, who had 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists two years ago against the Aggies. In last season's game, Sells was held to just two points, with her and Hannah Langhi – who also had two – the only returning Sugar Bears to score in last year's matchup.

Wednesday's game will be the final non-conference road game for the Sugar Bears, who return to the Farris Center on Saturday to take on Crowley's Ridge College, then follow with crosstown foe Central Baptist College on Dec. 15. Southland Conference play, with an expanded 20-game slate this season, starts Dec. 18 with a road trip to Incarnate Word and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on the 21st.
