LITTLE ROCK — After outscoring Little Rock 20-9 in the second quarter to take a one-point halftime lead, Central Arkansas was on the other end of it in the third quarter as the Trojans outscored the Sugar Bears 20-4 to build a 15-point lead that would prove to be insurmountable as the Sugar Bears fell 63-48 at the Jack Stephens Center on Saturday in the Governor's I-40 Showdown.

The Sugar Bears (1-2) shot just 33 percent for the game and 23 percent in the 2nd half, while the Trojans (1-3) hit 43 percent of their attempts en route to their first victory of the season, in the first meeting between the programs since 1987.

After falling behind 21-11 after the first quarter, the Sugar Bears got 11 points from Hannah Langhi in the second as they rallied to take a 31-30 lead into the locker room. But the Trojans would hold the Sugar Bears to just 1-for-12 shooting (8.3 percent) in the third quarter as they took control of the game, and kept the Sugar Bears at bay in the 4th as the teams each tallied 13 points in the final period.

Langhi's 11 points and 5 rebounds led the Sugar Bears, with Shay Johnson adding 8 and 4. Taylor Sells had 4 points, 4 rebounds and a team-high 5 assists; and Brionna Budgetts added 5 points in 7 minutes in her debut after being cleared for action on Friday.

Kyra Collier had 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists to lead Little Rock; while Alayzha Knapp added 15 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Teal Battle had 11 points and 4 rebounds, and Krystan Vornes added 11 points and 8 rebounds for the Trojans.

The Sugar Bears are on the road for their next two, visiting Tulane next Friday before heading to Northern Kentucky on Nov. 25. They return to action in the Farris Center on Nov. 30 against Jackson State.
