The Sugar Bears will make their 2019-20 Farris Center debut on Tuesday in an intra-city matchup when they host the Hendrix Warriors for the fifth consecutive season at 7:00pm.
The Sugar Bears (0-1), who began the season with a 63-36 loss at Tennessee last Thursday, will be shooting for their 8th consecutive victory over the Division III Warriors (1-0), who got their season started with a 64-57 win on the road at Centenary on Sunday.
In last season's meeting, the Sugar Bears used a 24-7 2nd quarter to pull away from the Warriors and outscored Hendrix 35-23 in the 2nd half en route to the 72-40 win. In that game,
Hannah Langhi had 15 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 steals in 28 minutes; while
Taylor Sells added 13 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.
The game will be the first of 14 in the Farris Center this season for the Sugar Bears, who are 80-26 (.755) at home in seven seasons under head coach
Sandra Rushing, including a 36-7 (.837) mark in non-conference home games. It is also the first of two games on the slate this week as the Sugar Bears travel to Little Rock to take on the Trojans in the Jack Stephens Center on Saturday at 2:00pm in their first clash since 1987 as part of the Governor's I-40 Showdown.
