The Sugar Bears find themselves 0-2 in Southland play for the first time since 2010, and are trying to avoid slipping to 0-3 for the first time since 2009.
• At 5-6, the Bearkats – in their first season under head coach Ravon Justice – have already surpassed last season's win total (4-23), including wins over Southern Miss and Louisiana.
• The Sugar Bears were picked 3rd in the Southland preseason poll, while the Bearkats were selected 13th. Last season the Sugar Bears finished 3rd at 14-4 while the Bearkats were 13th at 1-17.

• The Sugar Bears have used 11 different starting lineups through 12 games this season, going with the same lineup (Kamry Orr, Taylor Sells, Maddie Goodner, Alana Canady, Keturah Bingham) in their first two Southland games. Sophomore forward Mekaylan Hicks had been the lone Sugar Bear to start every game through the first 10 games before missing the last two due to concussion.
• In all, the Sugar Bears have had four players miss a total of 19 games due to injury this season.
• After starting the season just 12 of 94 (12.8 percent) from 3-point range through their first 8 games, the Sugar Bears have connected on 45 percent (23 of 51) in their last 4 games.
• Senior guard Kamry Orr returns to the campus where she began her collegiate career, having averaged 8.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game for the Bearkats as a true freshman in 2015-16. Last season Orr had 20 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals in the Sugar Bears' 73-53 win in Johnson Coliseum.
• Over their last three games, the Sugar Bears have been nearly automatic at the free throw line, hitting 39 of 44 (88.7 percent), while their opponents have gone to the line 76 times during that same span.
• The Sugar Bears sport the Southland's best scoring defense, surrendering just 55.4 points per game, while the Bearkats are the league's 3rd-leading offensive unit – scoring 74.0 per game, hitting a league-best 44.4 percent of their field goal attempts.
