• The Sugar Bears were 3rd in the Southland preseason poll and the Privateers 7th.  Last season, the Sugar Bears finished 3rd in the league standings at 14-4 while the Privateers were tied for 4th at 11-7.
• The Sugar Bears lead the Southland and rank 21st nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 55.9 points per game. In 8 road games, the Sugar Bears are allowing 64.4 points per game and are giving up 60.8 in conference play.
• As the season has progressed, so has the Sugar Bears' perimeter shooting. Over their last 9 games, the Sugar Bears have hit nearly 40 percent of their 3-point attempts, hitting 5 per game. In the first 8 games of the season, they hit only 12 total.
• In 6 Southland games, the Sugar Bears have attempted 89 free throws while their opponents have taken 147 – an average difference of 9.7 per game. The win over Incarnate Word, where the Sugar Bears had 16 to UIW's 15, is the lone conference game in which the Sugar Bears have shot more free throws than their opponent.
• New Orleans comes in ranked last in the Southland and 337th in the country in free throw percentage, making just 58.3 percent from the charity stripe. The Privateers have 7 players connecting on 50 percent or less from the line this season, though leading scorer Shania Woods has hit 72.1 percent (44 of 61).
• Woods ranks 2nd in the Southland and 39th nationally with 7 double-doubles on the season.
• The Sugar Bears have used 14 different starting lineups through 16 games this season, going with the same lineup in their first two Southland games and in both games last week against Incarnate Word and Nicholls.
• In all, 12 Sugar Bears have started games this season with Kamry Orr starting 15, Mekaylan Hicks 12 and Taylor Sells 12.
• The Sugar Bears have had four players miss a total of 20 games due to injury this season, having had their full roster available for only three games.
• In Wednesday's 74-43 win over Incarnate Word, the Sugar Bears equaled their highest-scoring first half of the season with 40 points, and held their largest halftime lead of the year with a 24-point advantage. The 31-point margin of victory was their widest against a Southland Conference team since an 83-39 win over Houston Baptist on Feb. 18, 2017.
