HUNTSVILLE, Texas — The Sugar Bears enter the final week of the regular season looking to continue their winning ways, having taken 4 of their last 5, beginning with Sam Houston State at 6:30pm on Wednesday.

With one win against the Bearkats (4-21, 1-15 Southland) under their belt already this season with a 69-44 victory in the Farris Center in January, the Sugar Bears (19-8, 12-4) will go for the season sweep over SHSU and look to extend their streak over the Bearkats to 10 – having last dropped a game in the series back in 2013 in Huntsville.

A win would give the Sugar Bears their third straight 20-win season and six in the last nine seasons, the most among Southland programs during the period.

In the season's first meeting, the Sugar Bears made a season-high 25 free throws and had two players record double-doubles with Mekaylan Hicks getting 15 points and 11 rebounds and Kierra Jordan 10 and 11 – and narrowly missing a third with Taylor Baudoin recording 13 and 9.

Baudoin, coming off a 24-point, 9-rebound game in Saturday's win at Abilene Christian, has averaged 22.8 points and 7.5 rebounds over the last four games and has 1,083 for her career – leaving her 26 away from cracking the Central Arkansas career Top 20 despite playing just three seasons, and putting her 5th on the program's Division I career scoring list.

Antonija Bozic has connected on 50 percent of her 3-point attempts over the past week, hitting 6 of 12, including knocking down 4 of 7 en route to 16 points in the win at ACU.

With two games remaining in the regular season, the Sugar Bears rank 2nd in the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 50.4 points per game. – on pace to break both the program (52.9) and Southland Conference (51.6) record for points allowed.

Following Wednesday's game, the Sugar Bears conclude the regular season Saturday in the Farris Center against Northwestern State, a team the Sugar Bears defeated 61-53 on the road earlier this season.
