CONWAY — After opening the season with a 55-34 win over one crosstown foe in Central Baptist, the Sugar Bears will go for the sweep of Conway on Friday as they host Hendrix College at 7:00pm in the Farris Center. 

The Sugar Bears (1-0) are 6-4 all-time against the Warriors, with all four losses coming from 1918-21 with one win during the 1925-26 season. The teams met back up in 1995, with the Sugar Bears coming away with a 79-57 victory. The two programs would not square off again until 2010, and the Sugar Bears have defeated the Division III Warriors in each of the four meetings by an average of 36.3 points – with last year's 79-22 win being the most lopsided in the series history.

In last season's victory over the Warriors, guards Kamry Orr and Taylor Sells each had 14 points to lead the way for Central Arkansas, with Orr also getting 7 steals and Sells 6 rebounds. In that game, the Sugar Bears held the Warriors to just 19.5 percent shooting (8-of-41) and forced 32 Hendrix turnovers. 

Whitney Woods had 6 points to lead Hendrix, and Vinessa Daniel grabbed 4 rebounds. Daniel is one of just four Warriors returning who played more than 6 minutes per game last season, with this year's Hendrix team featuring just one senior, one junior, five sophomores and seven freshmen. Last year's team went 19-8 overall and 9-4 in the Southern Athletic Association. Over the last three seasons, the Warriors are 56-26 under head coach Drew Gaeng.
