CONWAY, Ark. _ The main goals for the University of Central Arkansas Bears in Saturday's second matchup with the New Orleans Privateers are to take care of the basketball and to remain on the Farris Center court.

The Bears were called for 31 fouls in the first meeting with the Privateers on Jan. 25, a 94-83 loss at Lakefront Arena. Three starters _ Jake Zuilhof, Mathieu Kamba and Justin Foreman _ fouled out and four other Bears finished with three fouls.

UCA also had 19 turnovers with UNO scoring 22 points off the miscues.

UCA was hot from the perimeter, connecting on a season-high 13 three-pointers, to keep the game close. In fact, the Bears had an 11-point lead with just less than 13 minutes to play but could not hold on for the victory as foul trouble caught up with them.

Sophomore guard Jordan Howard led the Bears with 25 points, hitting 7 of 11 from three-point range, in the loss. Junior guard Jeff Lowery had a career-high 17 points and junior guard Derreck Brooks scored 16. Graduate center Jake Zuilhof led the Bears with 11 rebounds.

For New Orleans, six players scored in double figures, led by Kevin Hill with 23 points and 14 rebounds off the bench. Erik Thomas also had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Privateers.

Howard, coming off a career-high 37-point performance against Northwestern State, is second in the nation in three-pointers made per game. He is averaging 3.72 per game, trailing only Oklahoma All-American Buddy Hield. Howard is second in the Southland Conference in scoring (19.3 ppg), first in SLC games only (24.1). He is third in three-point percentage (46.2 percent) overall and third in SLC games (52.9).

The Bears are leading the SLC in three-point percentage, shooting 36.9 percent from beyond the arc.

UNO is 8-12 overall and 4-5 in league play, but has consecutive victories over UCA, McNeese State and Nicholls, all at home. However, the Privateers are 2-9 on the road this season. UCA will be playing just its fifth home game of the season at Saturday.

Tip-off is approximately 4 p.m. following the women's game. Catch the action on The Bear 91.3 with Justin Acri and at ucasports.com/watch.
