CONWAY — Central Arkansas outscored Alcorn State 40-20 in the paint and led wire to wire as the Sugar Bears defeated the Lady Braves 59-45 in the Farris Center on Tuesday for their 12th straight non-conference home win.

With the win, the Sugar Bears (4-1) completed the season sweep of the Lady Braves (0-6) after having won 71-57 at Alcorn in the first meeting, and extended their winning streak to three since suffering their only loss of the season at No. 23 Texas A&M on Nov. 13.

Senior center Raquel Logan had her third career double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds – one off her career high – while also leading the Sugar Bears with 4 blocks and 4 steals in 36 minutes. Junior forward Taylor Baudoin was the high scorer for the Sugar Bears with 16 points while also pulling down 7 rebounds and blocking a pair of shots. Senior guard Brianna Mullins added 12 points and a team-high 4 assists.

The Lady Braves got 16 points from Henrietta Wells and 13 from Tia Sanders.

After taking a narrow 13-11 lead into the 2nd quarter, the Sugar Bears outscored the Lady Braves 21-16 to take a 34-27 halftime lead. After a 14-12 third quarter, UCA limited Alcorn to just six fourth-quarter points to pull away late.

The Sugar Bears will look to continue their winning streak on Friday when they host Crowley's Ridge College in the Farris Center at 6:00pm.
