PROFFITT REACHES MILESTONE AS SUGAR BEARS TROUNCE WILLIAMS BAPTIST

CONWAY — Led by 17 points and 7 rebounds from junior forward Taylor Baudoin, Central Arkansas had four players score in double figures and held Williams Baptist to 11 second-half points en route to an 82-32 victory at the Farris Center on Tuesday.

The Sugar Bears (3-1) jumped out to an 11-0 lead, built a 48-21 halftime lead, then outscored the Lady Eagles (2-5) 20-2 in the third quarter to go into the fourth quarter up 68-23. In the final period, the Sugar Bear lead would extend to as much as 53 before the Lady Eagles closed it out with the game's last three points to make the final margin 50 – their largest margin of victory and highest offensive output since a 93-38 win over Crowley's Ridge College last December.

Senior guard Maggie Proffitt, who finished with 13 points in 21 minutes, was 3-for-8 from 3-point range to run her career total to 202 3-pointers made – becoming one of just 8 players in Southland Conference history to eclipse the 200 threshold. Her 202 ranks 7th in conference history, and she needs just 7 more to climb into the league's all-time Top 5.

Senior guard Brianna Mullins, who eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for her career last week in a win at Alcorn State, added 14 points in 20 minutes on Tuesday to move her into the program's career Top 25. Freshman guard Maddie Goodner added a season-high 11 points, and freshman guard Taylor Sells had the best game of her young collegiate career with 6 rebounds and 5 assists, tying junior Angel Williams for the team lead.

The Sugar Bears continue their four-game homestand next week when they host Alcorn State at 5:00pm Tuesday as part of a doubleheader in the Farris Center, with the Bears taking on Little Rock immediately following.
