Huntsville, Texas – The Central Arkansas Sugar Bears returned to the court on Saturday, taking on the Sam Houston State Bearkats in Huntsville, Texas. Central Arkansas struggled offensively on the day, picking up twice as many errors as Sam Houston en route to a 3-0 loss.
Central Arkansas (10-13, 4-7 SLC) hit just .088 in the first set, while SHSU (11-11, 5-4 SLC) put up a .423 attack percentage to take a 1-0 lead in the match thanks to a 25-18 win. Sophomore
Kellen Dunn was one of two Sugar Bears to record a positive attack percentage, hitting .364 with five kills, while junior
Megan Nash tallied six digs.
The Sugar Bears upped their attack percentage by the slimmest of margins in the second set, hitting .091 while the Bearkats again hit .364 to take the set 25-20. Dunn, Nash, and sophomore

Central Arkansas jumped their hitting percentage up to .179 in the third set, but fell 25-23 to drop the match. Dunn and Nash each added four kills to their tallies, while Anderson chipped in three and sophomore

For the match, Dunn collected a match-high 12 kills while adding three digs and three blocks, and Anderson added nine kills and three blocks. Nash tallied eight kills, a match-high four blocks, and a match-high nine digs, while freshman

The Sugar Bears are back in action next Saturday, welcoming the Abilene Christian Wildcats to the Farris Center at 12:00 PM. The match is set to begin at noon.
