UCA TURNS IN SOLID PERFORMANCES AT RED WOLF OPEN

Jonathan Burgess won the 3,000 meters at the ASU Red Wolf Open

    JONESBORO, Ark. _  The University of Central Arkansas men turned in 32 Top 10 performances at the Arkansas State Red Wolf Open, while the women's squad had 19 Top 10s on Friday-Saturday.

    UCA's men dominated the 3,000-meter run, taking the top four spots, with Jonathan Burgess winning in a school-record time of 8:44.35. Julien Jeandree was second (8:48.99), while Preston Borg was third (8:50.14) and Albert Maeder was fourth (8:58.39). Burgess was also second in the 5,000 meters on Friday in a time of 14:58.57. 

    Eric Moore finished second in the high jump (2.04 meters) and Josh Quiroga was third in the 800 meters (1:54.49). UCA's 4x100 relay team of Rashad Jones, Nicholas Holt, James Lassiter and Ethan Bly finished third (42.23) while Brandon Cox, Dillon Winfrey, Jacquez McMillian and Jaylon Watson finished fifth (42.82).

    Anthony Farris-King finished third in the long jump (7.53 meters) and Jaheel Lilly was fourth in the triple jump (14.77m). Connor Ryan was fifth in the 1,500 meters (4:01.70). 

    For the UCA women, Brigette Caruthers won the 5,000 meters on Friday in a time of 17:52.44. Abigal Topham was third in the 3,000 meters (10:47.39) and Madison Sellars was sixth (11:46.74). Brooke Wright finished fifth in the high jump (1.60m).

    Jasmine Campbell was third in the long jump (5.85 meters). Aysia Oliver finished fifth in the triple jump (11.65 meters) and Anna Kirk was fourth in the javelin (34.47 meters). UCA's 4x400 relay team of Jean Black, Jasmine Richard, Molly Sampson and Samantha Ellis finished sixth (4:05.10).
