SUGAR BEARS BACK IN FARRIS CENTER FOR FIRST OF THREE STRAIGHT

CONWAY — The Sugar Bears are back in action tonight in the Farris Center, beginning a three-game homestand with Alcorn State at 7:00pm before hosting Murray State on Saturday and Crowley's Ridge next Thursday.

The Sugar Bears (2-1) are coming off a 61-51 win at Murray State last Saturday, and look to run their all-time record against Alcorn State (1-1) to 4-0. Tonight's meeting marks the fourth straight year the two programs have squared off, with the Sugar Bears winning 47-39 at Alcorn in 2012,  71-39 in the Farris Center in 2013, and 62-36 last year at Alcorn.

The Lady Braves opened their season with a 66-57 win over Delta State before falling 87-58 a week ago at East Carolina. Norianna Haynes, a 5-foot-10 senior guard/forward, averages 23.5 points and 7 rebounds per game for the Lady Braves, while 5-7 junior guard Tori Spann has scored 12.5 per game.  Neither played in last year's meeting with the Sugar Bears.

Central Arkansas is fresh off a win at Murray State in which the Sugar Bears held the Racers to 30 points beneath their season scoring average. Sophomore forward Taylor Baudoin had her second consecutive double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds after going for 13 and 10 at No. 4 Tennessee, and junior center Raquel Logan had the best performance of her Sugar Bear career with 10 points and 14 rebounds, both career highs.

Maggie Proffitt leads the Sugar Bears in scoring at 12.7 points per game while Baudoin adds 11.3 and a team-best 9.3 rebounds per game. Brianna Mullins averages 10.3 points and a team-best 3.3 assists per game, and Logan has posted averages of 7.7 points and 9 rebounds per contest.

Pregame with Steve Owens on 91.3 FM The Bear and streamed online (VIDEO / AUDIO-ONLY) begins at 6:40.
