SUGAR BEARS TRAVEL TO MURRAY STATE FOR FIRST MEETING WITH RACERS

The Sugar Bears look to bounce back after last weekend's loss at No. 4 Tennessee, taking on Murray State this afternoon at 1:00 at the CFSB Center in Murray, Ky. Pregame begins at 12:40 on The Bear 91.3FM and online at ucasports.com/TuneIn. It will be the first-ever meeting between the Sugar Bears (1-1) and Racers (2-1), who will also square off again next Saturday in Conway.

The Racers enter today's game averaging 81 points per game, having scored 91 in a win over Oakland City followed by 76 in back-to-back games against Alabama A&M and Illinois State. Ke'Shunan James, a 6-foot-1 sophomore guard/forward who was the 2015 Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year, leads the charge for the Racers at 23.7 points per game while also averaging 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3.3 steals.

LeAsia Wright, a 5-8 junior guard, scores 18.3 per contest, and is shooting 42.1 percent (8-19) from 3-point range. Outside of Wright, the rest of the Racers are just 13-58 (22.4 percent) from beyond the arc. Kyra Gulledge, a 6-2 senior center, averages 7 points and a team-best 10.3 rebounds for Murray, having pulled down 11 in each of the first two games and just missing reaching double figures in the third, getting 9 against Illinois State.

The Sugar Bears are getting 11.5 points per game each from the Columbus, Miss. duo of Taylor Baudoin and Maggie Proffitt. Baudoin, who recorded her first double-double as a Sugar Bear with 13 points and 10 rebounds at Tennessee, tops the Sugar Bears with 8 rebounds per game. Senior forward Kendara Watts is averaging 9 points and 6 rebounds, while junior guard Brianna Mullins has averaged 7.5 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 2.5 steals per game.

The Sugar Bears will be back at home for their next three, beginning next Tuesday at 7:00pm against Alcorn State, followed by the Racers' return trip to Conway, and Crowley's Ridge on Thursday, Dec. 3.
