Hammond, La. – The Central Arkansas women's soccer team returned to the pitch on Friday night, travelling to Hammond, Louisiana to take on the Lady Lions of Southeastern Louisiana University. The Lady Lions took advantage of a first half goal, downing the Bears 1-0.
Southeastern Louisiana (10-4-2, 5-3-1 SLC) took the lead in the third minute, when Bri Singh found Ana Zadro, who slotted the ball away to put the Lady Lions up 1-0.
Central Arkansas (6-10-1, 3-5-1 SLC) got scoring chances from
Shelby Wilson,
Alex Moore, and
Stacia Carroll but the Bears were unable to convert, heading into the break trailing 1-0.
In the second half, the Bears got shots from Moore,
Camille Bassett, and
Dayna Mounie, but none were able to find the equalizer.
On the day, Central Arkansas put three shots on goal, getting one each from Wilson, Bassett, and Moore. In goal for the Bears,
Lauren Mercuri made six saves.
Central Arkansas returns to action on Sunday, taking on Nicholls at 1:00 PM.
