Saint Louis, Mo. – The Central Arkansas men's soccer team travelled to Saint Louis, Missouri on Saturday night to take on the sixth-ranked Bilikens of Saint Louis University. After the teams went into the half tied at 0-0, SLU scored a brace of goals in the second half to earn the 2-0 victory.
In the first half, SLU (7-1) out-shot the Bears (2-5) 4-3, although Central Arkansas held the advantage in shot on goal by a tally of 3-0. The Bilikens got on the board in the 58
th minute, as Robert Kristo fielded a cross from Marco Heskamp and fired a rocket from 15 yards out to give SLU a 1-0 lead. Kristo added an insurance goal in the 80
th minute, collecting a pass from Heskamp and found the back of the net from 12 yards out to extend the SLU lead to 2-0.
Logan Miller led the Central Arkansas attack with a pair of shots on goal, while
Wes Carson, and
Pepe San Roman each added a shot on target. Kristo was the only Biliken to put a shot on frame, putting two of his four attempts on goal.
Sascha Otte earned the win in goal for Saint Louis, making four saves, while
Harrison Veith took the loss for Central Arkansas.
The Bears return to action on Tuesday night, hosting Memphis at the Bill Stephens Soccer Complex at 7:00 PM.
