Conway – The Central Arkansas volleyball team returned to the court at the Prince Center on Saturday afternoon, playing host to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. For the second time in a week and a half, the Sugar Bears took down the Islanders, earning the sweep on the back of a .314 hitting percentage.

Central Arkansas (17-9, 12-2 SLC) hit .472 in the first set, grabbing an early lead with a 25-21 set win, before hitting .243 to take the second set 25-18. The Sugar Bears wrapped up the win by hitting .244 to complete the sweep with a 26-24 victory in in the third set.

The Central Arkansas attack, which was keyed by Kristine Hjembo's 44 assists, saw three players hit at least .333 on the day. Evie Singleton hit .371 on her way to a match-high 18 kills, while Heather Schnars tallied 17 kills on the back of a .333 hitting percentage. Fulani Petties rounded out the trio, hitting .385 while collecting six kills. Defensively, the Sugar Bears were led by Shelbee Berringer, who picked up 24 digs, and Schnars, who earned her second straight double-double with 10 digs. Petties collected a match-high four blocks, while Hjembo added three.

The Sugar Bears will take to the road on Tuesday, heading to Houston Baptist for a rematch of Thursday's 3-2 battle. The match is set to begin at 7:00 PM. On Thursday, Central Arkansas will wrap up their home schedule, hosting Southeastern Louisiana at the Prince Center. The match is set to begin at 7:00 PM.
