Conway – The Central Arkansas volleyball team returned to the court on Thursday night, welcoming the Cowgirls of McNeese State to the Prince Center. The Sugar Bears remained perfect in Southland Conference play, running their conference winning streak to 34 straight matches with a 3-1 win.
Central Arkansas (11-7, 6-0 SLC) hit .294 on the night, taking the first set 25-17 and then dropping the second 19-25 before rebounding to take the third 25-16 and the fourth 25-21.
Heather Schnars had her second double-double of the season, tallying a match-high 25 kills and adding 11 digs and four service aces while hitting .489.
Evie Singleton added a double-double of her own, collecting 16 kills and eleven digs and adding two aces of her own.
Kristine Hjembo dished out a match-high 47 assists, keying the Sugar Bear attack and added 10 digs, while
Fulani Petties chipped in with 11 kills and a .421 hitting percentage. Defensively,
Shelbee Berringer dug a match-high 19 balls, while Hjembo and
Megan Nash each had three blocks. Amber Fryer led the McNeese (10-11, 1-5 SLC) attack, collecting 11 kills.
Central Arkansas is back in action on Saturday afternoon at the Prince Center, hosting Nicholls at 2:00 PM.
