Conway – The Central Arkansas volleyball team returned to the court on Saturday, hosting Southland Conference opponent Nicholls. The Sugar Bears outhit the Colonels .446 to .266 on the day to earn the 3-0 victory and move to 7-0 in SLC play on the season.
Central Arkansas (12-7, 7-0 SLC) hit at least .393 in all three sets, hitting .457 to take the first set 25-20, .393 to take the second set 25-20, and .483 to take the fourth 25-16.
Alicia Dittrich hit .714 in 14 attempts on the day, tallying 10 kills and adding three digs and a block.
Heather Schnars hit .588 while collecting a match-high 21 attacks to go with nine digs and a service ace.
Kristine Hjembo dished out a match-high 44 assists, a number which ties for the sixth-most in Central Arkansas history for a three-set match.
Shelbee Berringer and
Megan Nash led the Central Arkansas defense, turning in 17 digs and four blocks, both of which were match-highs.
Kaci Eaton, with 10 kills, and and Ainsley Marroccoli, with 20 assists, led the way for Nicholls (7-12, 3-3 SLC).
Central Arkansas returns to action on Thursday night, hosting Lamar at 7:00 at the Prince Center.
