New Orleans, La. – The Central Arkansas volleyball program hit the road on Thursday night, travelling to New Orleans, Louisiana to take on Southland Conference opponent New Orleans. The Sugar Bears remained perfect in SLC play, sweeping the Privateers to improve to 4-0.
Central Arkansas (9-7, 4-0 SLC) hit at least .265 in all three sets, taking the first set 25-14 while hitting .370, the second set 25-14 while hitting .333, and the third set 26-16 while hitting .265. For the match, the Sugar Bears outhit the Privateers (6-12, 0-5 SLC) .318 to .099
Heather Schnars led the Central Arkansas attack, tallying a match-high 15 kills while hitting .433 and adding eight digs, four aces, and two blocks.
Evie Grace Singleton turned in eight kills, six digs, and three aces, while
Fulani Petties had six kills and three blocks.
Kristine Hjembo keyed the Sugar Bear offense, dishing out a match-high 35 assists.
Defensively, Central Arkansas was led by
Megan Nash 13 digs and Megan Nash's four blocks, both of which were match-highs.
Central Arkansas returns to the court on Saturday, heading to Hammond, Louisiana to battle the Lady Lions of Southeastern Louisiana. The match is set to begin at 11:00 AM.
