Conway – The Central Arkansas volleyball team returned to the court on Thursday night, playing host to the Lady Cardinals of Lamar University. The Sugar Bears held a .253 to .200 advantage in hitting percentage, sweeping the Lady Cardinals to remain undefeated in Southland Conference play this season.
Central Arkansas (13-7, 8-0 SLC) hit progressively better in the match, hitting .206 to win the first set 25-22, .231 to win the second 25-18, and .308 to win the third set 25-22.
Heather Schnars led the Sugar Bear attack, earning her third double-double of the season with a match-high 13 kills and 13 digs.
Evie Singleton and
Fulani Petties each added 10 kills.
Kristine Hjembo dished out a match-high 36 assists to pace the UCA offense. On the defensive side, Schnars and
Shelbee Berringer each tallied a match-high 13 digs, while
Megan Nash had a match-high three blocks.
The Sugar Bears are back in action on Saturday afternoon, hosting the Sam Houston State Bearkats at the Prince Center. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM.
