The Central Arkansas men's soccer team hit the road on Friday, traveling to Nashville, Tennessee to face off with Belmont in the Lipscomb Invitational. The Bears fell to the Bruins 4-0.
The Bruins (3-2-0) struck twice in each half. They took the 1-0 lead in the 21
st minute, as AJ Arnold fielded a pass from Raphael Colmanette in the box and slammed it home. Alfred Edmonds added to the lead in the 31
st minute, collecting a ball from Joao Fonseca in front of the net and putting it away. In the 51
st minute, Colmanette found Luca Schippa in the box. Schippa put the ball in the net for the 3-0. In the 72
nd minute, Colmanette got in on the scoring, blasting a shot home from five yards above the box to push the lead to 4-0.
Colmanette led the way offensively for the Bruins, scoring once and assisting on two more goals while taking four shots. Taylor Hart led the way for Central Arkansas (3-4-0) placing two of his four shots on goal. Jackson Gray was the only other Bear with a shot on goal. Taran Meyer made three saves for Central Arkansas while allowing four goals. Grayson Rector made three saves for Belmont.
Central Arkansas returns to the field on Sunday, playing tournament host Lipscomb at 2:30 pm.
