Conway – The Central Arkansas men's soccer team is preparing for its final game of the season on Friday night against Drake. The night will be about more than just defeating the Bulldogs, as the Bears will celebrate Senior Night, honoring the careers of seven seniors before the match begins. Central Arkansas will be celebrating the achievements of keeper Patxi Shortsleeve, defender Marco Carvalho, midfielders Connor Bowen, Jaden Hoth, and David Ngwenya, and forwards Alex Ghaffari and Taylor Hart.
Shortsleeve, from Cottonwood Heights, Utah, ranks third in school history in goalie games started, minutes played in net, and saves, fourth in career shutouts, seventh in wins, and eighth in save percentage. This season, Shortsleeve has appeared in ten games, making 49 saves for a save percentage of .721.
Carvalho, who hails from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, has appeared in 29 games for the Bears, playing 1,810 minutes over two seasons. This season, he has started ten games for Central Arkansas, playing 1,013 minutes.
Bowen, a native of Ada, Michigan, has a seen action in 31 games during his career, playing 1,420 minutes and recording one assist. This season, Bowen has seen action in 12 games for the Bears.
