The Sugar Bears travel to Jonesboro to take on in-state foe Arkansas State on Saturday at 7:05 p.m., marking the first regular-season meeting between the two teams in nearly 30 years.
The teams met in a preseason exhibition prior to the 2005-06 season, a game won 94-63 by ASU, but haven't squared off in a game of record since Dec. 3, 1983 when the Sugar Bears scored a 101-63 victory.
Although ASU leads the all-time series 11-7, Central Arkansas has won the last four meetings. The last ASU victory was a 69-61 win on Nov. 20, 1981.
The Red Wolves enter the game with a 1-6 record, their lone victory a 60-57 Sun Belt Conference win at Florida International. They have played just twice at home, losing 60-51 to Wichita State and a 52-51 heartbreaker to Southeast Missouri.
In their one game against a common opponent with the Sugar Bears, the Red Wolves lost 72-62 at UT Martin. The Sugar Bears lost 72-48 to the Skyhawks.

The Sugar Bears will be aiming for their second win in a row, having soundly defeated Central Baptist College 99-21 in the Farris Center on Tuesday night.
Senior forward Megan Herbert leads the Sugar Bears with 18.7 points and 13.0 rebounds per game. Senior guard Micah Rice leads the team in assists and steals with 3.7 and 2.0 per game, respectively.
