CONWAY — The Sugar Bears return to the Farris Center tonight after four straight road games and nearly a month away, hosting crosstown foe Central Baptist College at 7 p.m. in their first home game since the Nov. 9 season opener against Oklahoma Wesleyan.
The Sugar Bears enter the game with a 3-2 record, having dropped back-to-back contests at Louisiana Tech and UT Martin and will try to avoid dropping three straight for the first time since November of 2010.
The Lady Mustangs are 4-2 and riding a three-game winning streak, having most recently defeated Ecclesia 82-47 after defeating Rhema Bible College 86-59 and University of the Ozarks 53-50. Their losses have come to Arkansas Tech (99-52) and Lyon (68-46).
The teams met Dec. 5 of last year, with the Sugar Bears winning 79-48. Desiree' Rogers had 10 points and 11 rebounds in 22 minutes in that game, and Courtney Duever and Megan Herbert each had 13 points. Rogers had 17 points against the Lady Mustangs two seasons ago in a 76-35 Sugar Bear victory.
It will be the third straight season the two teams have squared off and the fourth meeting overall, with the two hooking up in 2003 – a game won 81-30 by the Sugar Bears.
