Central Arkansas takes the court this afternoon for its final game before Southland Conference play, taking on the Ecclesia College Lady Royals at 5:30 in the Farris Center.
Ecclesia, located in Springdale, competes in the National Christian College Athletic Association. The Lady Royals lost 119-59 to the Sugar Bears last season, a game in which UCA's Westin Taylor scored 38 points and hit 10 3-pointers – all in the second half. Megan Herbert had 31 points, 17 rebounds, and Desiree' Rogers had 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Ashton Abshier, the Lady Royals' leading scorer this season at 10.5 points per game, had 12 in last year's meeting.
UCA enters the game 7-5, having won five of its last six games. The Lady Royals are 2-15 and won their last game 52-50 on Monday against University of the Ozarks.
The Sugar Bears will be shorthanded, missing junior guards Nakeia Guiden and Sidney Stewart. Stewart has been released from the team, but will remain on scholarship as she continues to pursue her degree from the university.
Guiden will miss the game due to injury. No decision has been made yet on when she will return.
