KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The University of Central Arkansas dropped a heartbreaker in the 105th minute of play on Saturday night, allowing a late goal in the second overtime period to fall 1-0 to UMKC.

The Bears (0-2) nearly won in the first overtime, but the last of UMKC (1-1) goalkeeper Ken Cooper’s four saves kept UCA off the board.

With little more than five minutes remaining and the game seemingly headed for a scoreless tie, the Kangaroos were able to come away with a victory when Luke Harman played a ball to Jimmy Simon, who put it into the lower left corner for the game winner – his first goal of the season.

In a game marred with 37 foul calls (21 for UMKC, 16 for UCA), the two teams were nearly evenly matched statistically with UMKC registering 12 shots with six on goal and UCA going for eight and four. UMKC had four corners to UCA's two.

The Bears return to play on Tuesday when they host Centenary at 4 p.m.
